Class Descriptions

Gentle Hatha:                         Easeful practice focusing on breath-work, lengthening, basic postures & relaxation. All levels welcome.

Deep Stretch/Yin Yoga:          A slow, deep practice that increases flexibility by stretching & stimulating the connective tissue. 
                                              An ideal complement to more active styles of yoga, it is also great for athletes. Mostly floor work. All levels welcome.

Mom & Baby:                         A gentle yoga class for moms and babies from birth to one year.

Parent & Tot:                         A fun, relaxed class for parents and little ones from one to three years. 4 week session. Pre-reg. required.

Standard Hatha:                    A moderately paced flowing practice, including a variety of postures & breath-work. All levels welcome.

Gentle Pilates:                       For those who want to ease into the practice; appropriate for everyone. Improve core strength, postural alignment and build long, 
                                              lean muscles! Enjoy a full body workout that will leave you energized and refreshed.

Prenatal:                                Simple exercises combined with breathing techniques for strength, flexibility, balance & relaxation during pregnancy.

Beginners:                             Breath-work and basic postures are introduced. Pre-registration required for first-time attendees.

Belly Dancing Beginners:      A fun four week class designed for those with no previous experience. Pre-registration required.

Belly Dancing Intermediate:  For those with some experience. Focus on choreography and technique.

Develop Your Intuition:          Learn practical tools for connecting with your Inner Guidance. 6-week session.

Guide to Meditation:              Learn techniques for stilling the mind & achieving inner peace. 6-week session.

Sunday Meditation:                Guided Meditations with Elara. Some experience recommended. Drop-in. Every other Sunday.

A Course In Miracles Study Group:  Open discussions about the principles of the Course. Drop-in. Every other Sunday.


About Meditation

Meditation is a wonderful way to calm the mind and to induce deep relaxation. It will help you to reduce stress and to achieve peace of mind. It is also a powerful way to connect with your inner guidance, in order to find clarity and answers to life's questions.


Guide to Meditation Class

In the six-week Guide to Meditation Class you will learn the basic techniques of meditation in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. You will also learn how to open your heart and connect with your inner guidance.

Elara has taught meditation classes since the mid-nineties and is passionate about helping others to learn this wonderful art. She creates a beautiful safe space for the participants to experience the peaceful state meditation.


Belly Dancing


Belly dance has many health benefits....

  • Muscles in the abdominals, arms, upper and lower back, hips and thighs improve in tone and strength
  • Balance, posture, coordination, and circulation improve
  • The fluid nature of the dance helps to relax and lubricate joints
  • Belly dancing is a weight bearing exercise good for maintaining healthy strong bones
  • Lively, continuous belly dancing is a form of low impact aerobic exercise that, practiced regularly and in sessions of 20 minutes or more, can aid in weight loss, stress reduction, and management of high blood pressure
  • Exercising the abdominal area, by rolling the belly or swaying the torso, helps food move along the digestive system

Other positive aspects of belly dance:

  •  Suitable for all ages, body types, and abilities
  •  Wonderful for social connection with like- minded individuals
  •  Provides an outlet for creativity
  •  Gentler forms of belly dance are useful for pre-natal exercise, strengthening pelvic muscles and relaxing the mother to be
  •  As with yoga (a companion for belly dance) focus on the breath while moving helps to ground and center the dancer, aiding in a relaxed sense of well being
  •  Belly dance celebrates and honours femininity. 
  •  Belly dance provides a safe environment for expressing sensuality in a gentle yet powerful way. Body acceptance, awareness and confidence naturally evolve with this empowering art form.
