Time:​ Wednesday, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Description: Learn (or reinvigorate) meditation and mindfulness skills that are easily adapted to everyday life. 
There are opportunities to share our experience, and to take the process deeper with journalling and 
intention setting. This series is appropriate both for beginners and those with an ongoing practice. 
Everyone is welcome – whether you want to learn to meditate, or wish to deepen your practice.

What is Meditation​

Meditation describes a state of consciousness when the mind is free of scattered thoughts and various patterns. Meditation also means awareness. Whatever you do with awareness can be meditation. This is usually referred to as Mindfulness. As awareness expands and the heart opens to include whatever is present in the person without the need to change it, this can be referred to as Heartfulness. 

Benefits of Meditation 

Meditation is a wonderful way to calm the mind and to induce relaxation. It helps to reduce stress and anxiety, and to bring about peace of mind. It is also a way to connect with your inner wisdom, in order to find clarity. One of the most profound benefits of certain types of meditation is the expansion of awareness and opening of the heart.

Guided Meditation

Guided meditation is a process where you are guided through an inner experience. It can have many healing applications.

Yoga Nidra is a special kind of guided meditation. It is a very deep form of relaxation, and has many therapeutic benefits.
